Bush Pilots #3: Alaska — Don’t Forget Your Bush Wheels

These pilots don’t hang out at 30,000 feet, they don’t carry hundreds of passengers and their startup procedures may only take a minute but there’s a case to be made that bush pilots carry out the purest form of flying. Usually having little in the way of avionics to help them out in poor weather conditions, they rely on their knowledge of the local geography and weather patterns to get the plane on the ground and deliver their precious cargos. This week we head off to one of the most well known bush flying hotspots: Alaska!
